Is about the World of Work, resume production, work experience, and the Career Insight Morrisby profile. The Morrisby Profile looks at each student’s strengths in the areas of numerical, verbal, and abstract reasoning, plus mechanical and spatial ability. These results combine with our ‘Aspirations’ and ‘Personality Type’ questionnaires to give a detailed insight into the students’ potential and relative strengths, as well as guidance on subjects and courses that may be appropriate.

There are also many opportunities to participate in community projects via the Banyule/Nillumbik Learning Network.

The opportunity to participate in work experience continues with more of a focus on potential career /job pathways. The formal placement week occurs in September but can also occur at any other time.  The opportunity for focused placements increases greatly eg.  Austin Health, Northern Hospital, Banyule /Nillumbik councils, Victoria Police, NGV, and many more It is also the year when post school options are discussed in assemblies and focus groups. VET (Vocational and Educational Training) placements become available in Year 10 through the subject selection process and form part of their course structure.

Students focus on early entry programs  eg https://www.latrobe.edu.au/study/aspire and accelerated studies where they can undertake a University subject as part of their Year 12 course. ​

They are also encouraged to pursue a number of work experience placements throughout the year.

Students are focused on post secondary options and offerings which include further study, employment and GAP year opportunities.

They begin the year with a full day hosted by Swinburne University to provide a feel for tertiary study and campus life. They also have the opportunity to select two tertiary presentations from a range of providers.
